Description: This painting depicts the emotions of a farmland princess who is waiting for the return of her lover from across the seas. The subject adorns herself with Dogwood flowers, representing the belief in their love despite the tragic physical distance between them. The rhythmic fields in the background portrays the ups and downs in a relationship. The whimsical trees symbolize the growth from the nurturing love of a partner. This piece is inspired by my very own feelings and belief in my partner and love from when we were in a similar situation for 5 years.

Originally, I had planned to create this artwork in a traditional manner, but there were a lot of details that were better to add digitally. However, it is made to look traditional using my own modified watercolor brushes for the base and sketch pencils for the details.
